Reblogging pictures from flickr?

I have a tumblr blog and i want to share the pictures i find with my blogging community (i copy/paste the url to the picture, not save the picture itself.) But tumblr will not let me do that. i see people reblog pictures from flickr with out a problem all the time. How can i do that too? Does it have to do with copyright?
