How bad is the recoil of a six and half pound carbine in .30-30?

My first centerfire rifle was a model 94 .30-30. My dad gave it to me when I was 10, and I never had any problem with the recoil. The recoil of this rifle is very mild. It kicks a little more than a .410, but not as much as a 20 gauge.
