Copyright laws??????

Is it illegal to put pictures I find on google on a website? Like say I am showing what the caribbean looks like on my website and I put a picture I found of the caribean from google. Can I do that or is it copyrighted? I thought the laws allow you to show other pictures if you don't claim them as your own?
